2018 Kia Sorento SUV Receives Top Safety Pick+ Rating from the IIHS

Late last month, it was reported that the 2018 Kia Sorento SUV had been awarded a 2017 Top Safety Pick+ Rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). This award was granted to 2018 Sorento models built after May 2017 that are equipped with headlights that recently earned an acceptable rating from the IIHS; the headlights are offered for the SX Limited trim and the SX trim when it includes the Advanced Technology package.

Kia Teams With B.R.A.K.E.S. to Offer Free Teen Defensive Driving Classes

Kia Motors America and B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe) are expanding the free defensive driving classes offered throughout the Midwest in an effort to reduce the number of motor vehicle crashes involving young drivers. The classes begin in mid-August in a number of major metropolitan areas in a region that has nearly two million potential new drivers between the ages of 16 and 20.

Three Kia Models Top Their Segments in a J.D. Power Study

Recently, Kia Motors America announced that the Niro, Soul and Cadenza all finished on top of their respective segments in the J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Awards. The Niro took first among Small SUVs, Soul took the Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle category and Cadenza won the Large Car segment. Kia was the only non-premium brand to land three segment wins, and finished in a tie with two premium brands.

Kia Leads Initial Quality Study

J.D. Power announced recently that Kia Motors is the highest-ranking brand in their 2017 Initial Quality Study (IQS), the second straight year that Kia has earned the honor.

Kia posted the lowest number of problems over the last 20 years of the study, and led all manufacturers with five vehicles earning segment awards:
