Kia Announces Record September Sales Results
Yesterday, Kia Motors America (KMA) reported that the company enjoyed best-ever September sales results, with 52,468 vehicles sold in the United States during the month. This marks a 6.6 percent increase over sales for September 2016, and represents the brand’s first monthly sales record established in 2017.
Highlights from the month’s excellent performance include:
- Forte sales gained 28.8 percent compared to September 2016, with 10,631 vehicles sold. For the year-to-date, Forte sales are up 15.6 percent.
- Cadenza registered an impressive 98 percent sales increase in September, and year-to-date sales are up 18.3 percent.
- The Optima sedan increased sales 10.7 percent on 9,982 vehicles sold in September.
In a press release, Bill Peffer, Vice President, Sales, KMA, declared, “Despite industry-wide challenges, Kia’s world-class offerings, from subcompact to luxury, drew shoppers at an increasing rate with sales picking up throughout the month and leading to the best September sales performance in company history. After seeing a six percent increase in brand value over the last 12 months, according to Interbrand, Kia is poised to close the year strong with the arrival of the all-new Stinger and Rio models, which demonstrate all that our global R&D and production teams are capable of.”
