So, just what IS the 2020 Telluride and how does it fit in with the Kia lineup? Kia calls the Telluride the ‘future of the luxury SUV’, and while you might scoff given that Kia has been assumed to be more of a starting level automobile manufacturer, you would do well to take notice. Kia has patiently been building an eye-opening inventory of high-end vehicles like the 365 horse power Stinger GT, the lavish Cadenza, and the eye-catching K900. While the Sorento is a wonderful vehicle, it is not a Luxury SUV, hence the production of the Telluride. Called “Best in Show” at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show, the Telluride’s addition to the Kia stable means they now have a car for almost everyone.
Performance:
The 2020 Telluride was recently announced at the Detroit Auto Show so details and information are somewhat limited — such as MPG ratings — but what IS revealed is eye-opening. Kia confirms the Telluride has a 3.8 L Lambda Direct Injection V6, producing 291 horse power. This powertrain puts rivals, like the Honda Pilot and Chevy Traverse, on notice. Exterior:
The 2020 Telluride certainly has a high end appearance, as it mixes features from its fellow Kia lineup while also looking entirely original. The features are bold and robust and look like nothing like your vision of what a Kia should appear like. Get rid of the badges and you would never guess that the 2020 Telluride is a Kia.
