The All-New 2018 Kia Rio Offers the Dynamic Styling You Want

September 15th, 2017 by

We’re excited about the all-new 2018 Kia Rio, as the sedan and five-door hatchback both feature eye-catching design, fuel efficiency and up-to-date technology and safety features, while still delivering excellent value for the subcompact car buyer.

Kia has designed the Rio’s exterior to feature a more European flair, with crisp lines and smooth surfaces highlighting the sporty appearance. With headlights that have been swept back, a signature Kia “tiger nose” grille and fog lamp surrounds, the vehicle presents a more aggressive, energetic appearance right off the bat.

The 2018 Rio sedan is now 172.6 inches long, while the hatchback measures 160 inches. Both are set on a longer wheelbase, while a creased shoulder line runs from front-to-back and elongates the vehicle’s appearance.

The rear sits more upright than previous iterations, yet mirrors the wider front end to add to the overall sense of stability.

In a press release, Orth Hedrick, Vice President of Product Planning, Kia Motors America, commented, “Value has always been a core tenet for the Kia brand and the all-new Rio sedan and 5-door continue to underscore our commitment to buyers looking for an entry-level vehicle but desire more than what the subcompact segment offers,” said. “This fourth-generation Rio makes significant improvements over its predecessor in design, technology and passenger comfort, resulting in an even better value proposition while raising the bar in the small-car segment.”
